About The Teachers

Meet Mrs. Hendrix

I am a native of Greenville and a product of Greenville County Schools – Buena Vista Elementary, Northwood Middle and Riverside High School. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina and an M.Ed. in Instructional Accommodation from Francis Marion University. This will be my twelfth year teaching. I taught first grade in both Columbia and Summerville prior to moving to Wilmington, NC where I taught Kindergarten for two years. I've been teaching at Bethel for seven years and feel blessed to teach at such a wonderful school.

I have been married to my best friend, Tyler, for eight years. We have a five year old son, Matt, a two year old daughter, Caroline, and an eight year old rescue dog, Riley. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, shopping and cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks!

I know I have been called to serve children. I believe all children can learn - yet each child is unique. I know that high expectations yield high results in the classroom. I know that it is my job to foster a safe and secure community in our classroom - one that respects, encourages and supports one another. We are going to have an amazing year!

Meet Mrs. Long

My name is Mrs. Donna Long. This will be my 10th year as a K5 Assistant Teacher. My husband, Ben, and I moved to Greenville from Walhalla in 1992. We have 3 beautiful children, Hannah (24), Turner (20) and Maggie (16). Hannah is a cosmetologist who is also pursuing a degree in Education, Turner is a sophomore in college, and Maggie is a junior at Mauldin High. All of the children went to school through Bethel and I was on PTA for many years! I enjoy cooking and serving on our kitchen committee at our church. This summer I cooked and served over 600 meals! In my spare time, I enjoy home projects, boating and being with my family.
