Program Overview

Special education programs in Greenville County School are based upon innovative research and are supported by federal, state and local funds. Our students benefit from genetic, developmental pediatric and mental health services which are provided by numerous private and public agencies in the area. We are excited to partner with these agencies to support student growth!

Early Intervention

Research and experience clearly document that children with disabilities have the most benefit when identified and served early in life. Greenville County Schools demonstrates a commitment to these learners by providing comprehensive early childhood identification and intervention services beginning at 2 1/2 years. The district Child Find initiative elicits referrals from parents, community agencies, health care providers and nursery and preschool teachers.
