Owl Diaries: Eva and the New Friends

Have you read the book Owl Diaries: Eva and the New Friends by Rebecca Elliot?? Eva is an owl who loves writing stories. She also loves the picnics. She doesn't love spelling tests, her mom’s bug salad, washing the dishes, her brother’s stinky diapers, squirrels stealing food (unless it’s bug salad) and feeling left out. But she really loves her family. I like this book because it reminds me of what I do when I don't have school. I love to write and be with my family. It is a funny book that makes me happy.

Tru and Nelle

This book is by G. Nerri. I liked this book because it’s about two friends that meet and start to solve mysteries together. Truman, one of the main characters, was left with his grandma, and meets Nelle. In a few chapters, there was some racism to a black kid, and Nelle and Truman help the boy and become his friend. Together, they solve mysteries and discover who broke into the local store. I like the book because it has the theme of friendship. It is a good book to read. It will make you want to have adventures in the world with your friends.

Serafina and the Black Cloak

My favorite book is Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty. This book is about a girl named Serafina who secretly lives at the Biltmore House with her dad. She discovers that a scary ghost also lives at Biltmore and had to solve the mystery with her new friend, Braeden Vanderbilt. I’m not going to tell you what happens next. You will just have to check it out and read it for yourself!

A Night Divided

My favorite book is A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen. In this book, there are a lot of great things to enjoy. It is a book about a girl named Gerta trying to escape from East Berlin in the 1960s. One thing that I like about this book is that before every chapter, there is a little quote from a real person who has a similar to Gerta. For example, in chapter one, the quote says “When I want the west to scream, I squeeze on Berlin”-Nikita Khrushchev, Soviet Union premier,1958-1964. I also like the powerful story in the book. A little girl named Gerta, her brother, and mom get separated from her dad and other brother. It is a sad story but has a great ending; I can’t tell you what happens, though. You’ll have to read it yourself!
