Meet Dr. Rucker

I began teaching in October of 2010 in Bluffton, SC. My family moved to Greenville in 2014 to enjoy the beautiful upstate. My husband, Ray, is also an educator. My daughter, Emma Grace, is a now a freshman in high school.

I was born and raised in Oregon, but after joining the Marine Corps at 17 I found my way to the East Coast. I spent nine years in the Marine Corps before becoming a teacher. I've been provided wonderful opportunities to travel the world and experience a variety of cultures during my deployments. My Bachelor of Science in Psychology was earned at Oregon State University in 2003. In December of 2010, I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governors University. I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology with an Emphasis in Cognition and Instruction from Grand Canyon University in 2021.

After school, I enjoy mentoring girls as a Girls on the Run coach. In Girls on the Run, young girls learn to believe in themselves as they achieve their goal of running a 5K. When I'm not at school, I love tending to my plant collection, hiking, or floating on the lake.
