Class Expectations

  • Behavior Expectations for Students - 2017-18

Students should:

  • Be prompt . Be in your assigned seat and working on your starter activity when the bell rings. Students will be dismissed by the teacher at the end of class when all students are seated and quiet and all class materials have been put away. We do not leave my room in a mess.
  • Be respectful . Mutual respect is essential to learning. Excessive talking and being rude and disrespectful to the teacher or other students will not be tolerated. In my class, we will not tell one another to “shut-up.” Also, respect the property, personal space, and opinions of others.
  • Be considerate. Think about the feelings of others before you say something. You can think whatever you want, but once you say it you own it. Once you own it, you have to take the consequences for having said it. Wait for the appropriate time to speak rather than blurting out, and don’t conduct personal business (doing hair, makeup, gossiping, texting, eating/drinking) during class time.
  • Be prepared . Bring your literature book, English binder, and pencils and paper to class every day. I will tell you if you need any other books or materials. Complete homework before, not at the start of, class.
  • Be present . Being in class every day is essential to your success! Come to school! Do not ask to leave the classroom unless it is an emergency. No one will leave class without a student handbook/agenda pass.
