All About Me

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year.  I look forward to working with you and your child this year.  My name is Dana Gentry, and I am one of the special education teachers here at Bell's Crossing Elementary School.  This is my thirteenth year at Bell's Crossing, and fifteenth year teaching in the Greenville County School District.  I taught preschool special education for two years, prior to teaching at Bell's Crossing.   I received my undergraduate degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Master of Arts in Teaching, plus an additional thirty hours, from Converse College.  I am certified to teach Special Education, grades PK-12, as well as Literacy, gradesK-12.

Though I am originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, I have lived in Greenville County for twenty eight years.   My husband and I have been married now for twenty-eight years.  We have three boys; Jacob is grown, and works and lives in Columbia, SC, and Jordan and Jared, our twins, are seniors at Fountain Inn High School.  We have an Australian Shepherd named Cooper.  I enjoy spending time with my family.

I will be working with your child based on his or her individual goals written in the Individualized Education Program (IEP).  I believe that collaboration is essential to your child's success in school.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  Again, I look forward to working with you and your child!!  This is going to be a great school year!!

Sincerely,

Dana D. Gentry
