About Me

My name is David K. Eshenbaugh and this is my 19th year teaching here at Wade Hampton High School.  I was originally born in College Station, Texas but moved to the Upstate when I was five.  I moved all over, from Taylors to Mauldin back to Taylors, then to Greer, back to College Station then to Galveston, back to Taylors and finally to Mauldin.  I hope to stay there for many years.  I graduated from Greer High in 1995 and joined the Army National Guard shortly thereafter.  I began attending USC (Spartanburg) in 1997 and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science in Education (Biology).  When I moved back to Texas, I attended Texas A&M and received my Masters of Science in Marine Resources.  I have worked full time in the healthcare field the entire 7 years I spent in college, in Cardiac Wards, analyzing EKG rhythms for potential life threatening changes.  I am a huge sports fan and enjoy playing basketball.  I played soccer all through high school, as well as playing percussion in the band.  I have taught Physical Science, Biology, Marine Biology, Credit Recovery, Chemistry, and Physics.  I got married in November of 2007 to an amazing woman, my wife Jill. She is our church children's director and runs her own bakery, as well as a stay at home mother.  We will celebrate our 16th anniversary this November 2022.  I have an  25 year old step-son Riley who is very involved with our church as a youth group Intern and works on mission trips in the summer to less fortunate areas hit hard with poverty.  He makes us so proud.  My first son  Aidan, who was born in March 2009, is excited about starting high school, 9th grade this year.  He is extremely inquisitive and all boy all the time.  My wife and I had our 2nd boy together in May 2011 and named him Samuel, and is following in his older brother's footsteps, and eagerly doing 7th grade this year.  He loves running, jumping (on me), climbing (on me), super-heroes, and electronics.  We added to the Eshenbaugh Man Clan again with our 4th boy in November 2013.  He had an extremely rough beginning, but is full of snuggles, giggles, laughter, and singing now.  His name is Finnigan, but we call him Finn.  He is already easily holding his own and doing his best to keep up with, and outdo, the older boys now that he is 9, and in 4th grade.  In fact, he usually gives them a run for their money.  They truly are the joys of my life.
