Graduation Requirements
Students in South Carolina must earn 24 units to graduate. The requirements are distributed as follows:
Math: 4 units
English: 4 units
Science: 3 units
US History: 1 unit
Government: 1/2 unit
Economics: 1/2 unit
Other social studies: 1 unit
Physical Education: 1 unit
Computer Science: 1 unit
World Language or Career and Technology Elective: 1 unit
Electives: 7 units
If you are planning to attend a 4-year college in South Carolina, you will need one unit of math higher than Algebra II, three of the science units must be a lab science (such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), one unit of a Fine Arts class, and two years of a World Language*.
*Clemson and College of Charleston require three units. For Clemson, you must have three units in the same language, but for College of Charleston you may split the units between two languages.

11 units (must include two units of English, two units of mathematics, one science, and six other units)
