About Mrs. Scott

Hello!

My name is Mrs. Scott and I am originally from a small town in Pennsylvania called Cochranton. I've been in South Carolina for about 7 years. Everyone is so friendly! I am married to a wonderful husband named Richard and we have a five year old daughter named Claire. We also have a black lab mix named Jack and two cats named Thelma and Izzy.

I have loved art since I was small so it was an easy decision to study it in college. I earned my degree in fine art from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and my teaching credentials from Carlow University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When I made the transition to South Carolina, I also received my certification to teach here. I earned my Masters of Education from Converse University in 2021. This year I was honored to receive the South Carolina Secondary Level Art Educator of the Year award.

Metalsmithing and ceramics are my favorite ways to make art but I also enjoy drawing, painting, and other types of art. I'll put a few of my pieces out around the classroom for you to check out.

This is my 10th year teaching art, and I could not be more excited. This year I will introduce my students to some new ways of thinking about sculpture and clay and being creative. It's going to be a great year and I can't wait to meet everyone!
