Classes I Teach

6th Grade- The 6th grade course serves as an introduction to Middle School level work. Students learn to write essays, think more critically, and work on grammar.


English I- This class is a general overview which prepares Freshman for a successful High School career. This is the first exposure for students to some of the deeper works written by canonical greats. We read several short stories, poems, and a long study of Romeo and Juliet.


English III- A junior level class that focuses specifically on American Literature. We start our journey in the Puritan Age and finish up with Modernism. We read a variety of texts from The Crucible to The Great Gatsby with everything in between.


Journalism- An elective class which focuses on the fields of broadcasting and print journalism. Students write several articles and also study some of the giants of the industry (Edward R. Murrow, Peter Jennings, Walter Cronkite, etc.).
