Charles S. Mayfield

Welcome to J. L. Mann High School and to my web page.

I'm Charlie Mayfield, Principal of J. L. Mann High school. This is my 13th year that I have had the the privilege of serving as Principal of J. L. Mann High School and my 35th year in public education in South Carolina.

I am originally from Anderson, SC where I was born and raised. I graduated high school from T. L. Hanna High School and earned my Bachelors from Presbyterian College. I have graduate degrees from both Furman University and the University of South Carolina.

I was a teacher and coach for twelve years before becoming an administrator.

I am married to J. L. Mann alumna Shea Hanner Mayfield, Class of 84, and have three children who are all Mann graduates: Sullivan '12, Rebekah '17 and Torre '20. It is safe to say we are a Mann family.

As principal, my goal is to make sure that all of our students are college and career ready when they graduate from J. L. Mann High School and that they will grow to become men and women of honor and integrity.

I look forward to working with you in making this goal come to fruition.
