About Me
All About Mrs. Turner
My name is Cindy Turner and this is my 28th year of teaching. I began my teaching career at Greenview Elementary School in 1996 and taught there for 10 years. I have been the music teacher at Thomas E. Kerns Elementary for 17 years. I am proud to be teaching children of several of my former students.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois. In 1990 I moved to South Carolina to attend college. I attended Bob Jones University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a flute proficiency. I also have a Masters of Education degree in Elementary Guidance and Counseling from Clemson University. I have 30 graduate hours beyond my Masters Degree from various Universities such as Furman, Lander, USC, Converse, and Appalachian State. In 2018 I obtained additional teaching certification in the area of ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages). I spent the 2020-2021 school teaching English to English Language Learners in the Greenville Virtual Program. I returned to Thomas E. Kerns Elementary in 2021 as the music teacher. I am looking forward to working with your children this year and hope to continue advancing my knowledge in order to better serve your children.
I have many hobbies. One of my favorite hobbies is sewing and quilting. I also enjoy reading, photography, cooking, traveling and going off road in my Jeep.
I am married and we have a 14 year old daughter in 9th grade. I have one dog and three cats.
I am looking forward to working with my music students this year!
