My philosophies for teaching chorus fall under the following two methods:
Kodály Method- Developing strong music literacy skills through singing, the use of solfege (do, re, mi), and rhythm exercises- all taught in a sequential structure.
Dalcroze Method- Reinforcing the deeper understandings of musical concepts by incorporating the connections between music and movement. This is done through rhythmic movement, ear training, and improvisation- fostering an engaging and integral learning experience.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child to making this year a successful one. Please contact me if there are any questions, comments, or concerns you have regarding anything at all.
