Modules 1-4 Reflections

Module 1:

Technology-rich instruction focuses on integrating technology tools and resources into traditional teaching methods, while blended learning involves combining face-to-face instruction with online learning experiences to create a more flexible and personalized learning environment. Blended learning is a specific approach to instruction that incorporates technology as a key component, but it also involves changes in the overall instructional model and delivery methods.

Blended learning is a specific instructional approach that combines traditional face-to-face instruction with online learning activities. It involves a deliberate and structured combination of in-person classroom sessions and online learning experiences. Blended learning includes activities such as online discussions, virtual simulations, multimedia presentations, self-paced modules, and interactive quizzes. It may involve a rethinking of instructional strategies, assessment methods, and the overall organization of learning experiences to effectively integrate face-to-face and online components.

Module 2:

Teaching students about digital citizenship is essential for empowering them to become responsible, informed, and ethical participants in the digital age, equipping them with the skills they need to navigate and succeed in our increasingly interconnected world.

Module 3:

Tech transforms learning, reaching new heights!

In my classroom, I'll champion curiosity. Students will learn through questioning, investigating. Lessons will spark interest, encourage exploration. I'll guide them, step by step, through investigations. Together, we'll analyze, draw conclusions. It's a safe space for trying, making mistakes. Students will learn to communicate, collaborate. They'll own their learning journey, empowered.

My current planning strategies may involve starting with the content or activities you want to cover and then figuring out how to deliver them to your students. This approach might focus more on what you want to teach rather than what you want students to learn.

In contrast, backwards design starts with the end goal in mind: what you want students to know, understand, and be able to do by the end of the lesson or unit. You begin by identifying the desired learning outcomes or objectives. Then, you work backward to determine the most effective ways to assess whether students have achieved those outcomes, and finally, you plan the instructional activities and materials to support student learning towards those objectives.

Module 4:

beneficial thing about

watching the video?

instructional videos benefit your students?

I watched a video on how to change the headlights in my car. Watching the video allowed me to see step by step how to complete the task. I was able to pause and work on the steps as I needed. This helped me feel more confident and I am now able to change my own headlights.

Creating instructional videos for students is the same... we can create a video to show them step by step how to solve a problem, the steps needed, and allow them to watch, pause, and use the video as needed in order to help them complete the assignment.

In regards to creating my blended learning unit, I feel like…I am whitewater rafting... because... I hit times when I am uncomfortable and it's a bit bumpy, but then it smoothes out and I am back settled.
