Welcome to Bryson Elementary Attendance
We hope the information you find here is helpful and answers any questions you have about your child's attendance this year. Below are a few reminders to help your student have a successful year at Bryson Elementary.
Procedures for Absences
Please remember that upon returning to school after an absence, all students must submit an excuse for the absence. Excuse notes can either be sent in with your student upon returning to school or submitted using the the links below. Excuse notes should contain the following:
Student's legal first and last name
Date(s) missed
Reason for absence
A parent must submit a note for ALL absences. Doctor's notes can also be submitted upon the student returning to school or using the following link below.
Important Attendance Reminders
The school year consists of 180 days. Students must attend 170 days of each 180-day school year.
Students are counted present only when they are actually in school, on homebound instruction, or are present at an activity authorized by the school principal.
A student is considered in attendance when present for at least three (3) hours of a school day.
A child, ages 6 to 17 years, is considered truant when the child has three (3) consecutive unlawful absences or a total of five (5) unlawful absences.
A parent may provide up to 10 parent notes per years excusing a student illness or an absences related to an immediate family member's illness or death.
