About Mrs. Brown

Hello.....

My name is Amy Brown and I am so excited to be part of the Pelham Road Elementary family. As a child, I went to Pelham Road and I am elated to be entering my 24th year of teaching. I am excited to once again be an ALL STAR!

I have been married to my husband, Travis Brown for 23 years. He is a senior graphic designer at SYNNEX Corporation. I have two children, Carter and Ella. Carter is a junior at Eastside High School and is a proud graduate of Pelham Road. Ella is a sixth grader at Greenville Middle Academy. We also have a yellow lab named Filson, and a cat named Oreo. Our family loves to travel, spend time together and cheer on our Clemson Tigers! Go Tigers!

I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Winthrop University and I have my Masters in Early Childhood. I received my National Board Certification and my certification in Gifted and Talented. I started my teaching career in North Carolina teaching first and second grade. My husband and I then moved back to South Carolina and I taught first grade at Chandler Creek Elementary. In 2006, I transitioned to Charles Townes Center/Sterling School, teaching gifted third grade for eleven years. In 2017 I was very fortunate to become an All Star again and join the first grade team teaching first grade. In 2014, I was surprised by a special student that awarded me the WYFF’s Golden Apple Award. In 2015, I was lucky enough to be awarded Teacher of the Year.

I am super excited to be at Pelham Road. I am looking forward to working with such an amazing group of teachers, parents and students!
