About Mrs. Pearson

My name is Bonnie Pearson.  It is hard to believe that I am beginning my 27th year teachng this year. Wow! How time flies!

I am so excited to be returning to my classroom at Fountain Inn and fifth grade. This begins my 23rd year of teaching at Fountain Inn. I have previously taught pre-K and kindergarten for three years, first grade for eight, third grade for eight , fourth grade for one, and fifth grade for six. I am tremendously excited to be back in fifth grade, with a great team, and an even better school environment!

Teaching has been such a blessing to me, but no more than my family.

I live in Simpsonville with my husband, Russ. This is our second year being "empty nesters"  We have  three children, Jordan, Hannah, and John. Jordan is a graduate of North Greenville and works as a talent acquisition specialist in Greenville.  Hannah is also a graduate of North Greenville University and works as an social media director and medical assistant at a Medspa in Charleston. She is also Greenville's Top Model for 2023.  Our "baby", John, is a junior at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. He is majoring in film, screenwriting, and music studies.   I also have a little dog, who is my true baby, named Dabo and a" Grand-dog" name Sawyer. They are completely spoiled rotten. I'm more worried about them now when I'm not home and at school. We will probably be utilizing my "Pet Cam" a couple of times to check in.   My family is very special to me and most of my free time is spent with them. The majority of our family now live in Walhalla, so we visit often.   I do enjoy shopping, being at the beach with my family,  and just being a wife and mother.

Teaching to me is not a profession. It is a passion.

As stated before, I am currently in my 27th year of teaching and love it more each year.  I grew up in Northeast Georgia, Cornelia, Ga. to be exact, and my love of teaching grew there. We later moved to Walhalla, SC when I was in middle school. While at Cornelia Elementary, during my own first grade year, with Miss Epperson as a teacher, that I thought "this is what I want to do when I grow up". Then, with my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Fleming, I knew for sure teaching was in my blood and my destiny. It's amazing what an impact those two teachers had on my life. I hope to have that impact on my students as well.   I enjoy inspiring students with the desire to learn. I am constantly amazed and inspired by students. Hopefully, I will make an impact on them as my fifth grade teacher did on me. . It is remarkable how much you have to know before you realize how little you know. Each student is unique and different. You never know what to expect.  I look forward to a great year getting to know you and your student. My door is always open and you are always welcome. This is our "Home Sweet Classroom".
