About Me

This is my first year teaching Challenge AND my first year at Blythe! Although I am new to this position, I have been with Greenville County Schools for many years! I taught 2nd and 4th grades for 17 years at Westcliffe Elementary and then served as a Teacher Success Coach (to first-year teachers) for 3 years. It is a privilege to be in this new position at this amazing school!

To become a highly qualified and certified teacher, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Bob Jones University in 2001. I then went on to earn my Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities from Furman University in 2003. I also achieved my certification as a National Board Teacher in 2007 and renewed in 2016. Additionally, I earned my Gifted and Talented endorsement in 2018.

I am married and have two children, a 7 year old daughter and a 3 year old son! Being a mom has enhanced my perspective as a teacher. Thank you for entrusting me with your important little one. I do not take the privilege or responsibility lightly. I absolutely love being a teacher! Every day is new and offers amazing opportunities to grow, both for my students and for me! Thank you for sharing your children with me this year!Â
