Blythe Academy's magnet focus is language partial immersion.  Students at Blythe begin learning Spanish or French in Kindergarten and continue that path through Fifth grade.

Magnet Applications - How do I apply to Blythe Academy?

***ALL Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade applicants must schedule an in-person assessment.  Round 4 begins March 25 and ends on May 3.  Please click here to sign up for an assessment date and time.  

*****If you are applying for 3rd, 4th or 5th Grade, you do not need to sign up for an assessment - only complete the application.  I will reach out to you directly at a later time for a language assessment.*****

When you apply for the magnet program, please make sure you carefully read the Magnet Academies FAQs (see below links) and the Magnet Application Procedures BEFORE starting your magnet application and then follow all procedures with submitting it! If these procedures are not followed, then we will be unable to process the magnet application! Additionally, please submit your magnet application only once and do not wait until the last second to submit your magnet application!

Parents/Guardians will apply to Magnet School through PARENT BACKPACK.

Greenville County Schools is excited to announce the addition of online magnet applications to the Parent Backpack Portal. Parents will have the option to apply online through their backpack account. To access the online version of the magnet application, parents should login into their PARENT BACKPACK ACCOUNT. Parents of students outside of Greenville County Schools can create a new user account for the purpose of applying to a magnet program at a GCS magnet academy.

Once in their backpack account, parents will . . .

Select "Programs" from the column on the left.

Select "Apply to a Program."

Available programs will show on the screen.

Select "Apply" beside Magnet Academies to begin the magnet application process.

***Parents will be able to apply for MULTIPLE magnet academies in the online system, but they will only be able to submit the magnet application ONCE.

***Parents should make sure to select ALL magnet academies for which their student desires to apply and complete all sections of the magnet application before selecting submit.
