Do you dance? Are you musical? Do you play a string instrument or are you in chorus? Then this is an AWESOME opportunity for you in high school! Mrs. Bence did winter guard for 4 years in high school to feed her love for dance AND was in marching band and regular band class. This is a winter sport and it is truly incredible! Check out this video of an Independent World guard performing their show Look Up. I also included another video from our local Independent World Guard Etude! WOW!!!!!!!! What a show!

SO many opportunities when you are a part of the Marching Band!!! Over 80% of this band was a Non-music major at Western Carolina University. 80% of those members went on and pursued a career other than music and brought with them strong leadership, collaboration, teamwork skills and they know what it feels like to have a sense of belonging. Belonging to something bigger than yourself changes you, and makes you into the person you are meant to be! Mrs. Bence was Drum Major of this marching band for two years!
