My Role

As a high school counselor, my role is to help all students grow and thrive as they move from early adolescence into adulthood. School Counselors work with students, parents, teachers, and community members to provide education , skills, and information to help students make good choices in their college, career, and personal lives.

Please contact me if you'd like to meet for a parent/teacher conference, or for individual college and career counseling. I enjoy meeting with students and with parents throughout the school year. Students can see me any time, but it is often easiest for them to see me at flex, lunch or before or after school.

Students can see me if they need help figuring out a personal dilemma. Some students have experienced a crisis or trauma and are trying to process complicated emotions and situations. My office is a safe place for students who need a good listener who can help support them. I am not a licensed professional counselor, but I am a caring adult, trained as a teacher and school counselor, who enjoys helping students and can help direct families to other resources as needed.

I can refer students to our Social Emotional Learning Specialist, Allison Peasley, or our Mental Health Specialist, Eric Fluckiger, if they are interested in getting more support. Please email me at rsrogers@greenville.k12.sc.us if you'd like to learn more about these services.
