About Mrs. Payne
This will be my 15th year teaching at Duncan Chapel! I have taught 5th grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 1st grade. 1st grade is my love!
I am highly qualified in the areas of elementary and early childhood education. I have both a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Furman University. I also have my National Board Certification.
I grew up on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. I moved to Greenville in order to attend Furman University. I have two children. Isabella is 6 years old, and Christopher is 3 years old. Isabella is in the first grade class across the hall!
The rest of my family is spread all over the globe. My parents are still in the USVI. My mother's family lives in Austria. My father's family lives in Switzerland. And, my younger brother lives in Thailand. I love learning about all their different cultures and always look forward to learning about my students' various cultures every year as well.
