Welcome to Art 910  with Mrs. Grim

(I call it Art 910 because: A. I like the way it sounds, and B: 910 was the number of my first art room with GCSD!)
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! This is the start of my eighth year (I think) with Greenville County Schools and I am very excited to return to high school! Woo! Previously I taught as part of an elementary traveling related arts team, and I spent two years with GCSD's virtual program.

I was born and raised in Hays, Kansas, which is pretty close to the middle of the state. While there, I worked at Sternberg Natural History Museum, which gave me many great opportunities. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Art Education and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.  After graduating college I moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, which is pretty close to the geographic center of the United States. There I taught Kindergarten through Eighth grade, for three years at a very small district, Unified School District 312.

I moved to Greenville, South Carolina because I was ready for a change and have friends and family in the general area. I could not have asked for a bigger change! I really enjoy this area, and the people here. I enjoy the many opportunities offered here that I did not have in my area of Kansas, such as comic shops! I am so relieved that I graduated from Master's Program of Art Education, through Converse College, in Spartanburg, SC in 2020.

I enjoy reading, walking my dogs, and traveling, but my greatest passions in art is sewing books. I look forward to learning as much from my students as I will share with them. This will be a great year!

My husband and I have been blessed with two amazing boys! Joseph was born during the 2019-20 school year, and Steven was born during the 2020-21 year! This has been a huge, and amazing adventure, and I look forward to what it will bring our lives.

While in Kansas City I loved visiting the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art where they have some very interesting and fun art on display.
