Inspired Authors Club

Club Mission: For inspired writers to develop their craft in an informal, safe, and collaborative environment.

Who Can Join: Any League 6th, 7th, or 8th grader who loves to write! You do not have to be a great writer; you just have to enjoy writing.

Club Meetings: Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30, beginning September 19. Students will dismiss from their final class of the day when "6th grade walkers" is called over the intercom, and they will report to Ms. Franke's room (Room 316) on the Related Arts hallway. Feel free to bring your own afternoon snack! Students must be picked up from the carline promptly at 4:30, unless walking home or enrolled in EDP.

Club Activities: In October and November, students will prep for and participate in NaNoWriMo’s Young Writer’s Program. Students will also collaborate with each other for feedback, reflection, and revising. Other creative writing activities throughout the year will be decided collectively by the group members.

What Inspired Authors club adds to the League experience: Inspired Authors gives students space to dive deeper into their love of writing, often through genres and story ideas of their own choosing. The self- and peer-reflections that take place challenge students to grow as individual authors and as a writing community.

Interested students should talk to Ms. Franke or Ms. Harper for more information.
