Course Description
Welcome to Human Geography. Over the school year we will discover ways in which geography shapes the world around us. This course focuses on reinforcing geographic concepts that will be applied to a variety of locales around the world. By exploring prominent global features –cultures, settlement, and economies – we will begin to see how multiple elements combine to form our understanding of regions and identities.
While it is not the primary focus of this class, mastery of the basics of physical and political geography is intrinsic in the comprehension and application of the concepts of world geography. As such, students will be assessed on maps (physical and political) in conjunction with each unit of study.
