AFJROTC EXPECTATIONS

1. The instructor is in charge of the class at all times. No talking is permitted during lectures unless the instructor asks for a response.  Cadets who wish to ask questions or make statements should raise their hand and be recognized by the instructor.  Instructors will be addressed by their military rank or "Sir/Ma'am" as appropriate.

2. No food or drinks will be brought into or consumed in the AFJROTC classroom without permission from an instructor. Water may be brought in a clear container with lid. 

3. No gum chewing is permitted in the AFJROTC complex, or in uniform anywhere.

4. Backpacks will be placed to the right of each desk so that the aisles are clear for training and exit.

5. Cell phones/smartwatches will be powered off and placed inside backpacks or on the bookshelf at the front of the class before the bell rings.  

6. Sleeping is not permitted in class.  Cadets may stand up in the back of the classroom at parade rest.  Those who are ill will be sent to the school nurse.

7. Arguing or profanity will not be tolerated during any AFJROTC activity.

8. Cadets will not write on desks, walls, or furniture in the AFJROTC complex. Cadets will never sit/put their feet on top of furniture or desks.

9. The classroom will be kept clean at all times. Flight commanders will monitor the condition of the classroom and be held accountable for it.

10. All desks, tables, and chairs will be aligned neatly unless otherwise directed by an instructor.

11. The hallways outside the AFJROTC complex are an extension of the classroom.  Cadets will maintain proper military decorum in the hallway at all times.  

12. Bathroom breaks should be made before or after class unless there is an emergency or a medical note has been logged with the school nurse and updated in PowerTeacher.

13. Late arrivals will knock on the door once, salute the instructor or flight leader, and state:  “Sir (or Ma’am), Cadet (rank and last name) requests permission to join the flight.”  

14. The supply rooms are OFF LIMITS to all cadets, except those designated for logistics duties by the instructors.  

15. The issued Air Force uniform will be worn once per week (typically Wednesdays) for the entire school day, unless otherwise approved by an instructor.  Proper standards of cadet uniform wear, conduct and personal appearance will be enforced at all times.

16. The issued physical training gear and personal athletic shoes will be worn on PT days (typically Fridays).  Cadets will participate in a variety of calisthenics and team sports, unless written excusal is provided by a medical professional.  Neither cell phones nor ID badges will be taken to the athletic facilities.

17. Instructor offices are off limits to cadets at all times unless the instructor is present and appropriate AFJROTC business is being conducted.

18. All cadets will be treated with respect and dignity, and will be required to do the same for others.
