Meet

Mrs. Barrilleaux

My name is Aimee Barrilleaux, and I am the Literacy Specialist and Reading Recovery teacher at Thomas E. Kerns. This is my first year as a Literacy Specialist and I look forward to working with and coaching our teachers. This is my fourth year at Kerns, and I truly love being here. For the past three years I have worked as an interventionist teaching reading to kindergarten and first graders here at TEK. I have also taught third grade in Norfolk, Virginia.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, and graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education. I earned a Master's of Education in Administration from the University of South Carolina and became Reading Recovery Certified from Clemson University in 2018. I also have my Read to Succeed endorsement as a Literacy Teacher and Literacy Coach.

I live in Easley with my husband and fur babies. I love to read, travel and go hiking.
