Interactive Games

Here you will find links to some online educational games. Not all students are familiar with these, and you may need to help them navigate to specific topics that relate to their individual goals.

https://www.hearbuilder.com/

  • This is a really great site often recommended by School Psychologists and Speech Language Pathologists.

  • Includes activities on following directions, phonological awareness, auditory memory, and sequencing.

  • Free trial runs until the end of June!

https://www.education.com/games/

  • Different subjects and grade levels available.

https://pbskids.org/games/

  • Includes favourite characters and games involving feelings, teamwork, etc.

https://www.tumblebooklibrary.com/Default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f

  • Access to many free picture books online.

  • You might need to access this site through the Annapolis Valley Regional Library's Kid Zone website.

https://www.getepic.com/

  • Many teachers have set their students up with an account. If you're unsure, let me know and I'll find out (or set you up).

  • Access to high interest and levelled books, some have a "read to me" option where it reads the book out loud.

https://pages.sumdog.com/

  • Math and spelling games that are catered to the child (they play a diagnostic game first, and the site gets an idea of the child's level).

  • Works like a video game. Students answer questions to earn the ability to play games and improve their characters.

  • Subscription is currently free, but games are limited.

  • An account is required. You can either create one as a parent, or I can create a teacher one and set the students up. This will allow me to see their progress.

*I will add to this list as I discover more sites that are offered for free. Classroom teachers may have additional subscriptions that I will try to make a list of!
