Each Friday, students are instructed in a community based setting. During this instruction, the focus is to increase adult readiness skills through hands on learning experiences, community service opportunities, job exploration, and social skills.

GEAR Community-Based Instruction Opportunities:

• Ronald McDonald House Tour to learn about collecting pop tabs community service

• Whole Foods, Kroger, Giant Eagle, Costco and Fresh Thyme to grocery shop.

• Department stores: Walmart, Meijer, and Target

• Various restaurants to learn appropriate social skills, and calculating tips.
