2023-2024 STUDENT FFA Kickoff + Show Team Meeting

This slideshow covers general information regarding our chapter, partners, and popular projects. If you were not at the student and parent meeting, and you are interested in showing a project, you must schedule a meeting with Ms. Abagail Deussen, Mrs. Kalka-Nurenberg and/or Mrs. Reed.

Heifer validation- dates are pending for October

Lambs/Goats Validation- dates are  pending for October

Hog validation- date is pending. Make plans to be available for validation during early Thanksgiving break (Monday or Tuesday). 

Contact Laura Reed (lreed@dentonisd.org) AND Ellen Todar (etodar@dentonisd.org) if you have questions before or after the meeting.  Entry fee and chicken orders are due at the time of registration in October. Chickens have been picked up from College Station by the Poultry Superintendent and brought to the school in the past. Students do not need to drive to College Station for pick-up. This occurs sometime around Mid-February. They are pre-validated with numbered wing bands upon pick-up. 

Market chickens- order and validation are due in October at stockshow paperwork meeting

Market rabbit validation- date is pending for mid February


Make plans for next year:

Steer validation takes place in the summer. Deadline has already passed for 2023-2024 show season. You will typically buy these animals in March-May of 2024.


All students must be present for validation and have all paperwork signed. Paperwork will be distributed after validation tags are ordered and paid.
