Lab Equipment

This project makes use of data collecting equipment. The idea for this project began with consideration of the air quality in the Johnstown-Cambria County area. The air quality monitors allow for analysis of several different pollutants. The weather stations were added to study when changes occur in air quality (such as determining if particulate matter levels are lower when the wind is blowing in a specific direction). The weather stations also provide solar radiation data. This can also be used to compare to production from the third piece of instrumentation, solar panels. The panels are an example of an energy source that does not produce air pollution. Having three sets of equipment allows students to compare their data findings to the other DMCA campuses.
