Excel's partnership with SwimIntel gives our senior swimmers access to hundreds of comprehensive college profiles as well as a personalized best fit report that lets your swimmer know what conferences and colleges are potential matches with them athletically, academically, and based on their personal criteria. These tools combined with support from our staff and SwimIntel will ensure that your senior swimmer knows what to do, when to reach out, and exactly how the college swimming recruiting process works from beginning to end. 

Hattie B's:

In 2006, after a decades-long career in food and hospitality, Nick Bishop Sr. tried to retire. It didn’t take. The next year he opened Bishop’s Meat & 3, an old-school, cafeteria-style restaurant in Franklin, Tenn. Folks started showing up. 

Around that same time, Nick Jr. wanted a break from the music business in Nashville and joined his Dad behind the counter.
‍Soon after, father and son introduced hot chicken to the menu and began tinkering around with their own spice blend. More folks started showing up. By 2011, the Bishops were offering a variety of heat levels, and the idea for a hot chicken restaurant was born.‍

‍The next summer on August 9, 2012, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken made its debut, just off Broadway.
‍More than a decade later, with a dozen restaurants and hundreds of employees across fives states, we still feel like we’re at the beginning of our story.

Brentwood Renovations 

We are getting so close! We have been given the official start date back in the ISC of September 8th. All we have left to do is the cleaning and filling. When we have a definitive first practice, we'll let you all know. 

USA Swimming Registration 

Remember that all swimmers must register with USA Swimming on their own. This registration ensures that you are eligible for insurance coverage and is mandatory for anyone participating in either practices or meets. You should receive an email from Shannon Oliver on Tuesday, September 5th with the required link to register with Excel!

USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship 

Throughout the short course season, we will be carefully following our team's national ranking as we aim to break into the top 40 for the first time every. You can follow along (once we have our first meet)  here!

Millers Thrillers

It's that time of year again! Every fall, Excel Aquatics sends a team of our "toughest" swimmer to the Millers Thrillers haunted woods. Swimmer, friends and families are all welcome to attend. This year, we will be Friday October 14th.  Every year, this attraction gets more popular so please purchase your own tickets here  rather than buying them as a walk up. Choose the Hill Billy Hollar and the slash pass ($45 total).
When: 8:00pm on Friday, October 13th
Where: Millers Thrillers 431 Carters Creek Pike, Columbia, TN
Who: Anyone brave enough!

Excel Recognition Programs

Over the course of the short course season, our club will be tracking a series of recognition programs to help motivate our swimmers to succeed un a multitude of events. While ultimately these programs do reward success, they are designed to be achievable by any level of swimmers, not just those with the most experience. You can always find the running totals for each at the bottom of the Excel Extras.

Heat Winner: Place in the top three swimmers in your age group for number of races won throughout the year. This award to favor  those athletes that are attending meets, swimming  lots of events, racing hard but most importantly, improving throughout the year.  Winners will receive a "Heat Winner" bag tag.
IM Tough: 8 & Younger Swimmers- Swim a legal 50 Fly, 50 Back, 50 Breast, 200 Free & 200 IM during the season
 9 & 10 Swimmers- Swim a legal 100 Fly, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 IM and 500 Free during the season
IM Hall of Fame Level 1- Attain a Southeastern Championship Qualifying time standard in every event available for your age group.
IM Hall of Fame Level 2- Attain an Age Group Sectionals Championship Qualifying time standard in every event available for your age group.
IM Hall of Fame Level 3- Attain an NCSA Junior National Championship Qualifying time standard in every event available for your age group.  

Want to become an official? 

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members.
