After a 20 year drought, Excel Aquatics once again brought home the win in the Southeastern Long Course Championships! With strong showings from all our age groups, our Excel swimmers' speed and incredible depth proved to be the winning formula as we scored over 3,000 points!
Along the way, we also won the 10 and Under Boys and both sides of the 13-14 Age Groups.
Following a Triple Crown performance for Short Course, this wins means that we have scooped up 4 championships in 2023 and gives us an incredible amount of momentum heading into the 2023-24 seasons.
A huge "Thank You" goes out to all our families, officials, coaches and especially our swimmers for a historic year!

It's time to kick off another season at Excel Aquatics and we couldn't be more excited about it. Looking back on the last short course season, we certainly have some big shoes to fill. Not only was last year's team the biggest we've ever had, we were also the Triple Crown Winners, 5th at Age Group Sectionals and took our largest number ever to NCSAs. All of these were the highest level of achievement in our long history as a club. So where do go from here? The good news is that our number of new swimmers coming in, especially at the lowest age groups, puts us in a great spot to continue to lead the entire conference. We absolutely will be aiming for the Triple Crown again and look to move up at both the AGS and NCSA meets. Additionally, we are very excited about starting the season with a record nymber of Winter Junior qualifiers and we hope to grow that number in the next few weeks.
To all of our new families, we would like to extend a huge "Welcome Aboard!" and encourage you to reach out to any of the coaching staff should you have any questions.
Brentwood Renovations
We are excited to announce that our pool is getting some renovations on the floor. However, that does mean that the pool is closed through at least this whole week. For all Brentwood swimmers, this means a temporary schedule at either the Franklin or Nolensville Rec Centers. While we are fortunate to have those pools, they represent a large reduction in training space and we will therefore have to make some accommodations. Remember too, both of these pools are outdoors so we at the mercy of the weather. Please make sure that you check the website for the temporary schedule.
USA Swimming Registration
Remember that all swimmers must register with USA Swimming on their own. This registration ensures that you are eligible for insurance coverage and is mandatory for anyone participating in either practices or meets. You can register beginning on September 1st so stayed tuned!
USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship
Throughout the short course season, we will be carefully following our team's national ranking as we aim to break into the top 40 for the first time every. You can follow along (once we have our first meet) here!
Miller Thrillers
It's that time of year again! Every fall, Excel Aquatics sends a team of our "toughest" swimmer to the Millers Thrillers haunted woods. Swimmer, friends and families are all welcome to attend. This year, we will be Friday October 14th. Every year, this attraction gets more popular so please purchase your own tickets here rather than buying them as a walk up. Choose the Hill Billy Hollar and the slash pass ($45 total).
When: 8:00pm on Friday, October 14th
Where: Millers Thrillers 431 Carters Creek Pike, Columbia, TN
Who: Anyone brave enough!
Over the course of the short course season, our club will be tracking a series of recognition programs to help motivate our swimmers to succeed un a multitude of events. While ultimately these programs do reward success, they are designed to be achievable by any level of swimmers, not just those with the most experience. You can always find the running totals for each at the bottom of the Excel Extras.

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members.
