Spring Splash Meet
Spring Splash Meet
The first long course meet of the season is in the books and what a way to start things off! With just over 270 swimmers competing, our early season speed resulted in 78% lifetime bests, 4 new SES Qualifiers and even a new team record.
Most importantly though, the team attitude and support for each other was exciting and bodes well as we head into the full summer season. Scroll down for the full meet report!

A few weeks into the Swimstrong Drylands program has already started paying off with increase increases in our core stability. Please encourage all your swimmers to not only participate in practice, but to take advantage of the many resources available on their website.
Any time we start a new season in the pool, or on deck, we are prone to muscle soreness. Take a minute to read through some the best ways to deal with early season sorness here.

2032 Awards Ceremony
With this amazing 2022-23 season winding down, it's time to celebrate all our team's accomplishment at our annual awards ceremony. Clearview Baptist Church (Franklin, Rd, Franklin) has once again graciously opened their doors to us for 4:00pm on Sunday, April 16th. Everyone is invited so please make plans to attend!
USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championships
We are also pleased to announce that USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship rankings are finally available. After a long season of being down, VCC is back up and we are happy to be sitting at the top of the SES again! However, the Long Course rankings are a little delayed but keep checking here for updates.
Excel Recognition Programs
Excel Recognition Programs
Over the course of the new long course season, our club will be tracking a series of recognition programs to help motivate our swimmers to succeed un a multitude of events. While ultimately these programs do reward success, they are designed to be achievable by any level of swimmers, not just those with the most experience. You can always find the running totals for each at the bottom of the Excel Extras.
Heat Winner: Place in the top three swimmers in your age group for number of races won throughout the year. This award to favor those athletes that are attending meets, swimming lots of events, racing hard but most importantly, improving throughout the year. Winners will receive a "Heat Winner" bag tag.
IM Hall of Fame Level 1- Attain a Southeastern Championship Qualifying time standard in every event available for your age group.
IM Hall of Fame Level 2- Attain an Age Group Sectionals Championship Qualifying time standard in every event available for your age group.
IM Hall of Fame Level 3- Attain an NCSA Junior National Championship Qualifying time standard in every event available for your age group.

Any family that has been with us for even one season will know that we love to use USA Swimming's Virtual Club Rankings as a way to track our progress within the Southeastern Conference but also against our competition on the national level. However, due to the new registration system at USA Swimming, they are unable to produce those rankings at this moment. Thankfully, we have another place to look at in the meantime.
SwimCloud.com is a website that ranks swim teams, both as a whole team and by age groups. Once on there, you can filter the rankings by gender and age group, and even by event. As you can see, Excel Aquatics is doing very well!

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members.
