Today is the first day of a meet that we love. Over the last few seasons, the TNAQ Fall meet has been an exciting, fast meet for us. This year should be even better as we have had reduced opportunities to race this fall.Â
What to watch for:
10 & Unders- We are hoping to qualify a handfull of new swimmers for SES Championships in this age group. These younger swimmers progress so quickly that they are constantly full of surprise performances.
11-12- This age group has quickly become one of our strongest as we have a couple of first place seeds and hope to bring home some event winners.
13 & Over- Like the younger groups, these groups are looking for new SES and AGS qualifiers but in addition, we might see some new NCSA and Futures cuts which qualify swimmers to be on the national team.Â
Finally, while we'll have to wait until the middle of next week to see the results, we are excited to see what this does to both our VCC National Rankings and our SwimCloud local rankings.Â
As many of you may know, National Member Allie Joyce has lighting fast underwater kicks. As it turns out, she's really good at kicking on land too! This last week, Allie received three awards from her teammates on the Ravenwood JV soccer team: MVP, Top Attacker and the Raptor Award.

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members. Just this week, the Brentwood senior groups completed the testing session and the improvements were staggering. But that's not all SwimstongDrylands provides. Their website is a fantastic resources for all things swimming.
They have recently posted a particularly fascinating article about fueling a vegetarian or even vegan athlete. If this is of interest to you, check it out here.
