As you may know, before any season begins, your coaches plan out a full season plan complete with both macro and micro training cycles that give us the blueprint for everything that we to prepare our team.
Perhaps the most obvious part of our cyles is when we rest, or bring down the training intensity. Practices get shorter and swimmers usually feel the effects pretty dramatically. However, that's not where we are now. While each season plan differs slightly, October tends to be when both the volume and intensity of our training increases and we essentially "bank" work for later when it becomes time to rest.
Parents can expect some increased fatigue, increased appetites and perhaps some soreness. Older swimmers may add time in meets but the upside is that this is a critical time of the season and investment now will equal success later!
USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship

Millers Thrillers
It's that time of year again! Every fall, Excel Aquatics sends a team of our "toughest" swimmer to the Millers Thrillers haunted woods. Swimmer, friends and families are all welcome to attend. This year, we will be Friday October 14th. Every year, this attraction gets more popular so please purchase your own tickets here rather than buying them as a walk up. Choose the Hill Billy Hollar and the slash pass ($45 total).
When: 8:00pm on Friday, October 14th
Where: Millers Thrillers 431 Carters Creek Pike, Columbia, TN

You can always find the running totals for each at the bottom of the Excel Extras.

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members.
