Congratulations to our 305 Excel Swimmers who swam this last weekend in the 2022 October Open. Early Fall meets are often a difficult time to swim best times as our real focus is on technique, racing strategies and learning new events. However, with over 70% lifetime best races, our swimmers were there to race!
But just as importantly was our attitude on the deck. For most of the meet, our swimmers (along with an army of coaches) were lined up along the competition pool cheering each other on! Finally, a huge "Thank You!" to our parent volunteers for helping out our Meet Host team. Without our support in officiating, timing and meet marshaling, this meet would have not been the same.

Any family that has been with us for even one season will know that we love to use USA Swimming's Virtual Club Rankings as a way to track our progress within the Southeastern Conference but also against our competition on the national level. However, due to the new registration system at USA Swimming, they are unable to produce those rankings at this moment. Thankfully, we have another place to look at in the meantime.
SwimCloud.com is a website that ranks swim teams, both as a whole team and by age groups. Once on there, you can filter the rankings by gender and age group, and even by event. As you can see, Excel Aquatics is doing very well! However, as a cautionary note, HSA hasn't yet swum a full meet and we expect that when they do, they will be challenging us in a few categories.

Millers Thrillers
Every year during October, Excel Aquatics takes a terrifying tour of the haunted woods at Miller's Thrillers. The 45 minutes walk through the private farmland near Spring Hill never ceases to deliver. This year, we will be meeting at Miller Thrillers at 8:00pm on Friday, October 21st. No need to sign up through us, simply buy your own tickets here . Make sure you buy the Haunted Woods Tour with Slash Pass. Doing so will save you potentially 2 hours of wait time. All swimmers who are 13 and over, and any friends and family, are welcome to join us. See you there!

The deadline to register for the TNAQ Fall Invitational is Sunday, October 17th. This is a very early deadline so please make sure that you don't miss out.

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members.
