The 2022-2023 Short Course Season is here and we have a lot of new faces!
Welcome to the new season! This week, we kicked off the new season and are thrilled to be welcoming all our new swimmers and their families. All across our 4 sites, we had lots of enthusiasm, great numbers and even new coaching faces.

Brentwood- In our first week, we welcomed new families and swimmers of all ages. Coach Daun and her staff has an army of 10 and unders that has grown enough for us to add three more practice groups! Furthermore, we are thrilled to add Coaches Alex and Shantel onto the deck and welcome their vast coaching experience to add to the mix. All our other age groups have grown too and we look forward to a dominant season!
Gallatin- Coach JJ had a great first week in our Northern-most site. Our Gallatin numbers are up and attitudes are great! To help Coach JJ and Andreea, we are thrilled to add Alumnus Riley Gaines to the staff to lead and mentor all age groups.

Murfreesboro- While the weather is still nice, our lucky Murfreesboro swimmers get to swim outdoors! But there's more....Coach Chris is excited to welcome back Coach Dakota to help with the age group program in Murfreeboro.

Longview- Our big news at Longview is the addition of our new Site Director, Coach Carrie! While not new to the staff, she assumes the role of leading our Longview swimmers into the new season with lots of new faces.
Drylands
Drylands
We are excited to announce the continued partnership that we have with both Coach Amy Richardson and also D1 sports to support our drylands at the Brentwood and Longview sites. Both options were hugely beneficial for our sites last season so we are eager to expand both options this year.
To contact Amy Richardson for classes at the ISC, please email her at arichardson-training@hotmail.com and she will take on swimmers as space allows.
We are also excited to expand the Cool Springs D1 offerings this season. Through our partnership with D1, we now have options for all swimmers ages 7-18 through the following schedule:
15-18 Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm
13-14 Swimmers Mondays and Wednesdays 6:45-7:45pm
7-12 Swimmers can choose any day of the week 5:00-6:00pm

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members. Our Brentwood and Longview sites are currently in need of both swim instructors and Junior coaches who are at least 15 years old. Both are great ways to give back to the Excel Family while also earning a little extra money. If you are interesting in learning more, please email: coachbenji@excelaquatics.org
