Guidelines & Expectations
The rules of the Pilot still apply. This includes the student behavior code, acceptable use policy, academic honesty policy and more. Inappropriate behavior should be referred to the Deans.
Digital interactions should be school appropriate. If you are using online discussion tools such as Google Groups, Padlet, or Flipgrid, set expectations for student posts. Address inappropriate posts or other disruptive behaviors similar to how you would respond in a face to face classroom.
Students should not participate anonymously. Require students to use the sign in with Google button to log into applications such as Google Meet with their ETHS202 email accounts.
Review work and provide feedback in a timely manner. This is important to ensure the wellness and welfare of our students and to keep them connected during remote learning. Quickly address issues like lack of participation and inappropriate behaviors as they arise. If you are concerned about a student, consult with your supervisor. Practice acknowledge, care, tell when student work warrants intervention.
Remind students to practice Digital Citizenship. Below is an infographic that reminds students of the 3R's along with their connection to online behavior expectations. Feel free to share this with students.
