Hi! My name is Shemel Thomas and I am the 7th grade assistant principal. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, I taught 4th grade for two years and middle school within my 17 year teaching career. I taught middle school science at HMS for 6 years and I am so glad to be back home. I am a proud graduate of Hartsville High School and earned my degree in Biology from Coker College, which is now Coker University. My Master's degree is in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. My husband and I have one daughter. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and Sorors.  I also enjoy watching sports. I am looking forward to providing support to my teachers and enhancing your child's middle school learning environment.
