TMS Ensembles
Our Co-curricular Ensembles are an extension of the great work students do in our performing music classrooms! Below is a list of our co-curricular ensembles in Band, Choir and Orchestra that meet before or after school. Students must be enrolled in a grade-level music ensemble course in order to participate in these co-curricular ensembles. Please see your director for more information!
Honor Band is an auditioned concert band that provides continuing growth in music through the study and performance of advanced band literature. Private study is recommended as students must meet rigorous audition criteria to be considered for this group. This group performs several times each year.
Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned jazz band open to 7th and 8th grade band students who play saxophone, trumpet, and trombone, or drums as well as any students who play guitar, piano, and bass players. This group plays swing, blues, latin, and rock music and perform several times throughout the year.
Seasonal Band is open to all band 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students. There's no audition, just show up! The group performs Holiday music for the Salvation Army Bell-ringers in December, performs at Solo & Ensemble Contest in February, and performs Patriotic music at the Spring Band Concert in May.
Bella Voce is a Honor Choir of treble voice open to all 7th and 8th grade singers who are current members of Choir, Band and/or Orchestra and who have completed 6th grade Choir. 6th grade choir members may audition in December.
Boys in Black is a non-auditioned singing group, open to 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade boys. The group performs at various community events, prepares for festival/contest performances, and performs at our curricular Concerts.
Belle Armonia is an auditioned orchestra that provides continuing growth in music through the study and performance of advanced orchestral literature. Private study is highly recommended as students must meet rigorous audition criteria to be considered for this group. This group performs several times each year at festivals and competitions.
IMPACT is open to all orchestra students. We are the orchestra ensemble that makes a positive impact in the community through music performance and service.
Holiday Choir is open to all TMS students who love to sing! We learn music for the December Holidays, including Christmas music, multicultural music, & secular songs of the season. There is a 6th Holiday Choir and a 7-8 Holiday Choir.
