Heather M.G. Brown

Assistant Professor

Department of Chemistry

The College of St. Scholastica

Duluth, MN

Heather grew up in Hugo, Minnesota and attended The College of St. Scholastica, where she double majored in Biochemistry and Biology with a minor in Spanish. As an undergraduate at CSS, Heather did research with Dr. Paul Stein on the effect of anti-oxidants on protein binding kinetics. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities under Dr. Edgar A. Arriaga, where she developed novel methodologies for the multi-parametric analysis of autophagy flux at the whole cell and individual organelle levels via mass cytometry. Heather joined the faculty at St. Scholastica in 2018.
