Hello!
My name is Kristin Rollins and this is my second year at Riverside. I am so excited to have your student this year! Prior to RHS, I taught for 4 years at Mitchell Road Christian Academy and one year at Eastside High School as the full-time sub. I grew up in Greenville and graduated from Eastside. I did my undergrad at Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee, majoring in Communications and minoring in History. After working in the non-profit world doing Leadership development and training for high school and college students, I changed gears towards teaching. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Social Studies) from Converse College in 2021. I did both my clinicals and my student teaching all at Eastside High School. I am also certified to teach Secondary English.
I am also a soccer coach and have been for 15 years. I coach club for United FC and have coached in the SCHSL, most recently for the varsity girls team at St. Joseph’s High School from 2018 to 2022. I have also been an age group coach for the state’s Olympic Development Program (ODP). Winning back to back State Championship in 2021 and 2022 with St. Joe’s has been my proudest soccer moment(s) to date. I love the sport and am so blessed to be a part of some wonderful teams.
Most important, however, is my family. I have been married to my husband, Trey, for 23 years and we have 3 daughters- Ella (a sophomore at Pepperdine University in Malibu CA), Emerson (senior at Eastside), and Everly (a fourth grader). We also have a fantastic dog named Pepper, of whom I love to share pictures of. Our family loves to try new restaurants, attend sporting events and musicals/plays, and go to the beach. I also have a great love for England and love to travel there any opportunity I can get!
I can’t wait for this year and what we will accomplish together. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
I believe...
I believe all children can learn if given the right environment and encouragement.
Every classroom presents a unique community of learners that varies not only in abilities, but also in learning styles.
I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education.
Every classroom has its own unique community; my role as the teacher will be to assist each child in developing their own potential and learning styles
I believe that a teacher is morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest of expectations for each and every one of her students.
I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day.
I believe that a classroom should be a safe, caring community where children are free to speak their mind and blossom and grow.
I will use strategies to ensure our classroom community will flourish.
