About Me

My name is Tara Wills, and I’ll be your English teacher this year. This is my 7th year teaching, and my second year at Clovis High. I was born and raised in Southern California. I attended UCLA, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University, and taught Kindergarten at Pinetree Elementary in Canyon Country for four years, until we moved to Clovis. I have been a stay-at-home mom and active parent volunteer for over 18 years, and just recently returned to teaching. Some of you may remember seeing me around, working the student store, as a substitute teacher, or as a basketball and football mom.

My husband, Shawn, and I have lived in Clovis since 2000. Shawn grew up in Hanford and played football, baseball, and basketball at Hanford High. We met at UCLA, where he played football and baseball, and I was on the Dance Team. Shawn is a Sergeant with California Highway Patrol’s Air Operations Unit. We have four kids, Bria, JJ, Jalen, and Jackie. Bria is 27 and lives in North Carolina, where she is a CNA. JJ attended Clark and Clovis High (Class of 2016), where he played basketball and football. He is now pursuing a career as a police officer. Jalen also attended Clark and Clovis High (Class of 2018), where he played basketball. Jalen will be a Junior at San Diego State University this year. Jackie, our youngest, went to Clark, and will be in 9^th grade this year. She went to Clovis Elementary, where she played basketball, soccer, and ran track.

During my free time, I enjoy reading, travelling, dancing, and watching my kids play their respective sports. I enjoy helping my students discover new things about themselves, and look forward to the tremendous growth that each of you will experience this year!
