This program of study may also include exploration into designing clothing and accessories, and creating special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computers, or other electronic tools and media, for use in computer games, movies, music videos, and commercials. Students in this pathway often participate in Castleviews, the Castleberry High School Yearbook.

Graphic Design and Interactive Media Occupations

Digital Design & Media Productions - This is the introductory course to both the Digital Communication pathway and the Graphic Design & Multimedia Pathway. Digital Design and Media Production will allow students to demonstrate creative thinking, develop innovative strategies, and use communication tools in order to work effectively with others as well as independently. Students will gather information electronically, which will allow for problem-solving and making informed decisions regarding media projects. Students will learn digital citizenship by researching current laws and regulations and by practicing integrity and respect. Students will demonstrate a thorough understanding of digital design principles that is transferable to other disciplines. The six strands include creativity and innovation; communication and collaboration; research and information fluency; critical thinking; problem solving, and decision making; digital citizenship; and technology operations and concepts.

Commercial Photography- Commercial photography is only one of the many disciplines of professional photography. This course develops students’ skills and knowledge in commercial photography projects. Students will also develop the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze customer needs and preferences, apply the principles of art to photographs, and develop photographs using a variety of production processes. The most important thing you can bring away from this course is a new sense of vision. Your goals will be to further your appreciation of light, discover meaning in images rather than words, and learn how to make images important and powerful in their own right.
