Mrs. Pelowski

ASA Elementary Art

Welcome to Art

My goal at ASA Elementary is to create a positive learning environment where engaging and thoughtful artmaking takes place. As a standards based school, our mission is to teach the visual arts using the four art processes: Creating, Presenting, Responding and Connecting. This year we will use these four art processes to explore art as it relates to ourselves, our surroundings, and other artists throughout history. We will be experimenting with a variety of art media and techniques.

Art media we hope to explore:

Wet Media: printmaking, watercolor and tempera paints

Dry Media: paper cutting, collage, color pencil, chalk and oil pastel

3D Media: clay and paper mache

Upcoming Events

This coming June, ASA Elementary will be having its annual Field Day to finish off the year! In the art room, we will be tie-dying class color t-shirts to wear for this event!

Meet the teacher

Hello ASA Art Friends!

My name is Mrs. Pelowski and this will be my third year teaching Elementary Art at the Art and Science Academy.

Education: I graduated from the Minnesota State University of Moorhead with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in K-12 Art Education and a Minor in Studio Art.

Current Events: This year has been one of exciting changes for my family. In August, my husband and I became home owners and are officially part of the Isanti Community! Even more exciting, this coming summer we get to welcome a baby Pelowski to our small cat family. We are all hoping Ricky, our lovely cat, is up for the challenge.

Hobbies: When I am not busy playing the role of art teacher, I find myself creating. Whether it be knitting a blanket, drawing a portrait, or re-designing yet another room in the new house-- the creativity never stops!
