Why I Enrolled:

I have a varied background in both business in education. I began my formal education majoring in Business & Marketing and ultimately got my initial degree in business while working for 10 years in international sales and marketing. Like many young women, I adjusted my career when I began a family over 20 years ago and became a business & technology teacher. After spending 18+ years in mainly educational technology I completed my Master’s in Educational Technology and became a Google Certified Trainer. Shortly after that I began working mainly with a global company, AppsEvents, to provide G Suite related professional development events and workshops at schools for educators. The company has experience slow but steady growth and is in need of a proper digital marketing strategy for the USA. The problem is that I am the only full time person and our only ‘social media/marketing’ coordinator is in the Philippines and is stretched too thin to focus on a single market. The strongest competition for my company is in the USA so it is imperative that we address this. After pushing to hire and consult with experts to no avail, I have taken it upon myself to learn the latest tricks of the trade in regards to digital marketing. I also aim to build a small local business to provide services to young professionals and businesses who just need basic information to get started with an online presence and marketing channels.

While researching local ‘college’ and other online options I discovered Udacity's Nanodegree in Digital Marketing while exploring opportunities for students through Google. I found the Android Development Nanodegree and reviewed the course. I was thoroughly impressed and have recommended to many folks with that need / desire. As a result, I found the NanoDegree in Digital Marketing.
