The theme for this year is "Rising to the Challenge".

Over the course of the year in ELA students will be reading a range of texts, including novels and shorter selections, as well as working on six long term writing assignments. Students are expected to come to class everyday prepared to participate in the day's activities. Students will have English homework everyday. Examples of possible homework assignments are writing a short reflection on the day's lesson, reading from a novel, studying vocabulary, or working on a long term writing assignment. Below is a general outline of the content we will be covering in ELA in each grade.
