“For safety's sake, the bus driver is in charge of the bus. Each student must obey the bus rules and the driver.

  • No vaping, smoking, or consumption of any prohibited substances

  • Music can only be played through headphones (use of any speaker/broadcast device is prohibited)

  • No aerosols or fragrances are to be used on a bus

  • All students must remain seated for the duration of the ride

  • Report any rude disrespectful or inappropriate behavior to the driver (and follow up with a Harwood administrator or student support specialist as soon as possible).

  • All students must be quiet at railroad crossings for safety reasons.

  • Follow all driver's instructions and enforcement of additional safety procedures are solely at the discretion of the driver and school.

Riding the HUUSD busses is a privilege that students jeopardize when they misbehave, potentially creating an enormous, expensive inconvenience to parents/guardians. Consequences are directly related to the impact of that misbehavior. Consequences may result in a student losing busing privileges.
