Little Hands in the Barn

Our Little hands in the barn program brings our community and chapter closer together!

One of the Wayne FFA's most known project is our pork project. We breed pigs for our Little Hands In the Barn program that will farrow during the Wayne County Fair. We then take those piglets back to our barn and raise them to market weight. Once the pigs reach that weight, we give the meat to our local food pantry, our school lunch program, and sell it to local community members.

SPECIAL THANKS TO:

MFA Agri-Services

Kids gain hands on experience seeing the piglets after they are born.

They are also welcome to watch while the sow farrows.

We encourage all members to help out in the pig barn.

Members take shifts with an experienced officer to make sure everyone is safe.

Kids come in throughout the fair to hold the piglets and learn about the farrowing process.

We deliver a portion of our pork to our local food pantry each year.
